But, as Ho pointed out, she spotted the term's use on Twitter in a post from October 2018 - and the word could easily have online origins even earlier than that. Quartz reporter Karen Ho has been posting regular reminders on Twitter - often, between the hours of 11 p.m. However, the Times can't be credited with inventing the word. The Times' Mark Barabak described doomscrolling as "an excessive amount of screen time devoted to the absorption of dystopian news." " Doomscrolling" has been gaining momentum this week since the Los Angeles Times included it in a recent article about how coronavirus has introduced a new lexicon of words into our daily lives. Perhaps due to the fact that many of us are more likely to read such news on our phones or through our social media feeds, another term has arisen to compete with doomsurfing: doomscrolling. Surf was the preferred verb used for browsing the internet back when the internet was a new thing it extended naturally from such phrases as channel surfing, suggesting the habit of not staying on one site or channel for any length of time. The Domesday Book sounds like a tome of horrific spells, but it was really a record of English landholdings made by order of William the Conqueror in the late 11th century. We can see him shooting a mutant, later being helped by his dad. Judging by the third trailer, he seems to reach it, seemingly with his dad, Eric. This caused him to investigate the Peninsula and Sahara, leading him to discover “Site 2.” He marks the location on a map of an island, which likely depicts the setting of Sons of the Forest. At the end of this ending sequence, we can see that Timmy has some side effects, to say the least, from his time at the Peninsula. There is a bit more evidence for this opinion. However, this assumes that The Forest’s first ending is canon, which isn’t explicitly known. It’s possible that this billionaire is Eric Leblanc, the playable character from the first game, his son Timmy Leblanc, or both. Judging by the trailers and the description on Steam, it looks like we can expect to play as a member of a rescue team sent to find a missing billionaire. What we know so far is what we can piece together from announcements and trailers, which is to say, not a whole lot. It’s tough to say exactly how Sons of the Forest will tie into the previous game, and what track the story will take. Whether this is the case for Sons of the Forest or not remains to be seen. Despite the developers wanting to release the Forest on Xbox, it wasn’t to be. While this is great news for Playstation, if Sons of the Forest follows a similar rollout to the previous game, it doesn’t look good for Xbox. While this doesn’t mean history will repeat, the precedent is there, so we may well see a similar staggered release play out. The Forest was released on Playstation 4 on November 6 2018, roughly seven months after the PC release. Though it can’t yet be confirmed, there is some safety in speculating a console release, at least for Playstation. What we don’t know is whether consoles will come further down the line, or if Sons of the Forest will be a PC exclusive. We’ve got a date penciled in, but what about the platforms? Well, we know for certain that Sons of the Forest will release on PC in October. Here’s hoping this delay is the only one. ![]() If a few extra months let them put the finishing touches on the game, it’s not too bad after all. While the delay isn’t great news, Endnight Games is a relatively small development team. The revised Sons of the Forest release date is October 2022, with no specific day mentioned just yet. However, the developers later considered that date to be “overly ambitious,” as detailed in another tweet, resulting in a delay. First off, an answer to the most important question – when is the expected Sons of the Forest release date? Initially, a tweet posted on Novemannounced that the game was set for release on May 20 2022. ![]() ![]() ![]() Be ready for tons of output.Īpp-admin/clsync:extra-hardened - Enable extra security checks. ![]() Not fully implemented yet.Īpp-admin/clsync:control-socket - Enable AF_UNIX control socket support.Īpp-admin/clsync:extra-debug - Enable extra debugging. ![]() # * generated automatically using egencache *Īpp-accessibility/brltty:api - build brltty's application program interfaceĪpp-accessibility/brltty:beeper - support the console tone generatorĪpp-accessibility/brltty:contracted-braille - support in-line contracted brailleĪpp-accessibility/brltty:fm - support for the sound card synthesizerĪpp-accessibility/brltty:midi - support the musical instrument digital interfaceĪpp-accessibility/brltty:pcm - support for sound card digital audioĪpp-accessibility/brltty:speech - speech supportĪpp-accessibility/eflite:16k_voice - Use a higher-quality voice.Īpp-accessibility/emacspeak:espeak - Adds support for the espeak tts engineĪpp-accessibility/festival-it:mbrola - Adds support for mbrola voicesĪpp-accessibility/freetts:jsapi - build Java Speech API (JSAPI)Īpp-accessibility/freetts:mbrola - Adds support for mbrola voicesĪpp-accessibility/orca:braille - Enable braille supportĪpp-accessibility/simon:kdepim - Use kde-apps/kdepimlibsĪpp-accessibility/simon:opencv - Use media-libs/opencvĪpp-accessibility/simon:sphinx - Build sphinx backend (pulls app-accessibility/julius if disabledĪpp-accessibility/speech-dispatcher:espeak - Adds support for espeak speech engineĪpp-accessibility/speech-dispatcher:flite - Adds support for flite speech engineĪpp-accessibility/speechd-el:brltty - brltty supportĪpp-admin/ansible:keyczar - Enable accelerated mode for old ssh clients/serversĪpp-admin/bcfg2:cheetah - Include dev-python/cheetah supportĪpp-admin/bcfg2:genshi - Include dev-python/genshi supportĪpp-admin/bcfg2:server - Installs scripts to be used on the server-side of this appĪpp-admin/clsync:cgroups - Use cgroups to limit /dev access.Īpp-admin/clsync:cluster - Enable clustering support (allows master-master clsync on multiple hosts). ![]() # your descriptions to your package's metadata.xml ONLY. # This file is deprecated as per GLEP 56 in favor of metadata.xml. ![]() ![]() ![]() t summer intensive for studio-styles (choreography) as well as streetdance-styles, with the highest standard of teaching and unique talents from around the world.
